41 Faith Borne From Suffering

A faith borne from suffering
Only comes one way.
And while we wish it easier,
At this cross we must lay.

So when the Master beckons
Us to assume this role,
Accept it for what it is:
Time to cleanse the soul.

And as hard as it may
Seem to ever bear,
Accept it for what it is:
A reward of His loving care.

For if we do not suffer
Groaning from within,
And accept it for what it is,
The battles we’ll never win.

For so Christ himself suffered
Suspended from the limb,
All part of God’s plan
All ordained for Him.

And only as we suffer
Do we prepare to reign with Him.
Closer to the heart of God
Likewise destiny, prepared by Him.
