69 Touchdown
While awaiting the special straight back wheelchair needed to take me right to my seat, I took leave to go to the bathroom, gaining the new experience of using the handicapped facilities, much easier to maneuver than the daunting trip to the toilet while on board.
While being pushed to the plane, I was hit with a rush of freezing air, and we passed actual small snowdrifts that had formulated in the loading chute to the plane.
This time I was not only the first one to the plane, but also the first one on the plane. Safe in a bulkhead seat, I waited for everyone else to load so we could take off for warmer climes.
The wait seems endless, so I fill the time by accumulating and piling on 6 airline blankets around me. Unfortunately I still remained chilled to the bone and feeling more rundown by the minute, not to speak of my back hurting me something terrible.
However, as time passed, the pain in my back took second fiddle to my throbbing leg, as with nothing to rest my leg on, all the blood was collecting in my lower extremity, and the pressure had mounted fiercely.
