81 – Greatest Doctor in the Universe

Do you know of any doctor who promises to heal all diseases, and that no medical condition is beyond his ability to heal? I do.

The Lord makes these kinds of promises, and there is documentation to back these claims. (Psalm 103:3, Jeremiah 32:27) It’s all found in the good old Judeo-Christian Bible that most households have a copy of (somewhere!). In fact, many people today continue to testify of this kind of divine healing, healing that defies the logic of medical science.

This Doctor promises, “I am the Lord who heals you. … For I will restore health unto you, & will heal.” (Exodus 15:26b; Jeremiah.30:17a)

To touch on the established supporting documentation for a moment, “Jesus went...healing all manner of sickness & disease. Jesus went through all the towns and villages…healing every sickness & disease among the people. Great multitudes followed Him & He healed them all.” (Matthew 4:23,24; 9:35; 12:15b)

Yeah, you say, but that was thousands of years ago. Well, Bible verses like the following indicate that the Lord’s healing promises are still entirely valid today. “Jesus Christ the same, yesterday & today & forever. I am the Lord, I change not” (Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6)

If you saw Mel Gibson’s movie The Passion, you probably recall the scenes of the beatings and suffering that Christ endured. That physical suffering is what paid for our healing. The Bible explains that the Messiah “was wounded [for our sakes and]...with His stripes we are healed. … He took our infirmities & bare our sicknesses.” (Isaiah.53:5; Mathew 8:16,17)

That’s why the Lord, when He had communion with His disciples, “took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body which is broken for you.' ” And why He promises that “by his wounds you [can be] healed.” (I Corinthians 11:23, 24; I Peter 2:24)

So along the lines of healing, “With God, nothing shall be impossible. All things are possible to him that believes … [because] the power of the Lord [is] present to heal. ” (Luke 1:37; Mark 9:23; Luke 5:17b)

It’s that simple. The Lord has the power to heal us of every sort of physical affliction (Psalm 34:19)
