87 – My Stand of Faith
Yet another consideration in all this is the fact that I don’t have medical insurance that will cover surgery, in the States or Mexico for that matter. And in the States, if you don't have medical insurance, not only are medical procedures very expensive, but also some doctors won't even consider seeing you, let alone treating you.
Well, when I take my burden to the Lord in prayer, He reminds me that I do have insurance. In fact, complete coverage.
The Lord is my insurance. As well as my assurance. And so with all things considered, He gives me the faith to wait on his healing and thus not go ahead with an operation. I just have a peace about it and know everything is going to work out.
And you know, by the grace of God, I can honestly say at this juncture in time that I am thankful that I broke my leg! So much good has come out of it in my life that it more than makes up for any pain, agony or inconvenience. In fact it's the very pain, agony and concern that are giving me a renewed relationship with the Lord and others, and I don't want to be rescued prematurely from getting the full course of benefits.
So finding this place of rest in spirit, I email out a prayer request, explaining my stand of faith, and ask for continued prayer for bone growth and specifically that the gaps of bone in my leg will fill in. The immediate goal is to get my leg to a weight-bearing stage, as being able to put weight on it is supposed to stimulate further bone growth and healing.
