93 – Warm and Friendly Mexico
I visit the office where the receptionist and lab technicians are happy to see me and seem genuinely concerned as to how I'm doing. And this is only the second time I've even met them. A month ago, I had simply showed up at this medical office recommended by Dr. Lopez, and during the course of conversation explained how my accident came about and so forth. And now, we seem like fast friends. This visit they have even voluntarily discounted the cost of my x-rays as a token on their parts. Unlike many similar visits in the States, where you come away scratching your head as to the impersonal service you receive, I actually enjoy going to my appointment and chatting with these friendly folks.
And it's not just the x-ray technician or Dr. Lopez that I've formed a bond with. It's with virtually everyone of the folks I come in contact with during my visit to Mexico. Everyone is so nice, and so amiable. Not that the people I have encountered during my doctor visits in the States have been unconcerned, but it's just somehow warmer in Mexico.
And another thing, there's no intimidation whatsoever from the medical personnel. They are they for you. Not you being there for them while they dispense their knowledge in a transcendent manner.
Once again, the X-rays are crystal clear. And great news: The X-rays indicates more bone growth. Again, not much, but some.
Dr. Lopez suggests that it is time to remove my external fixator, and so a date is set for the procedure.
